6 REASONS FOR OUTDOOR YOGA
OK, it doesn't have to look exactly like our Norwegian yogi Leif when you do yoga outside. But every time you look at the weather apps on your smartphones, you're itching to roll out your mat in nature and get started.
Still not quite sure? According to these reasons, you will be!
➕ Lower your stress level
After just 60 minutes in nature, your cortisol level (the STRESS HORMONE) drops noticeably.
➕ Fill up on vitamins, please
Sunlight on your skin helps your body produce vitamin D. But don't forget: better to be safe than sorry and remember to use sun protection!
➕ Stimulate your metabolism
Breathing in fresh air, breathing out stale air – it feels so good. And a better supply of oxygen intensifies blood circulation and thus stimulates the metabolism.
➕ Strengthen your immune system
Exercising outdoors lowers blood pressure and heart rate, and also increases the production of immune cells that protect you from infections.
➕ Become more creative
Studies have found that your creativity can even double can, if you do sports in nature. It sounds strange, but we can confirm this from our own experience.
➕ Be more focused
Yoga is generally good for improving your concentration. One study showed that students who spent even a short amount of time outside had better memory than those who had to stay indoors.
If those aren't good reasons to do yoga and exercise in nature. Whether it's a park, a terrace or a courtyard, fresh air is always good. Treat yourself to a round of exercise or outdoor yoga and switch off.
