HOW TO MAKE YOUR HOME A RETREAT

We make vacation plans that we look forward to for months: "Finally, relax, relieve the stress and take a deep breath. Hang in there, it will be good!"
But always Having only one specific event in the distant future in mind that we focus on shouldn't be our saving grace when we're feeling bad TODAY, right? What if we also had an environment in the here and now where we could retreat after a stressful day?
Make your home your personal retreat:
➕ Create a corner in your apartment where you can read, do yoga, exercise, think and meditate. Get a sound system so you can listen to music that calms you down. Very important: your cell phone is not allowed here.
➕ Turn your bathroom into a spa. Your bathroom should be a place where you feel comfortable. Treat yourself to a room fragrance that relaxes you. Consider whether you like the colors in your bathroom - if not, change them. A plant can also bring new life into the room.
➕ Clear out. Many things stay with us for many years - and we don't really know why. Sure, there are memories attached to them, but at some point you're past the age of keeping empty alcohol bottles... A clean room that is only filled with furniture, pictures and accessories that you associate with something (even if you just find them beautiful) creates a calm atmosphere.
➕ Cooking brings people together. The kitchen is often a practical place. Food is prepared here (men often simply in the microwave) and then eaten on the couch. It would be better if your kitchen was a place where you like to be, cook with friends and eat in peace. Think about what you personally lack in order to perfect your kitchen (apart from your cooking skills).
