HOW TO START MEDITATION | PART 1

IKARUS active wear for men - so startest du mit meditieren

Between you and me – I am not a “meditation guru” and it feels a bit strange for me to post a picture of myself like this and then give tips on how to meditate best. I feel like a complete beginner. But I know how important it is to meditate and why I do my best to practice regularly. And why? Of course because of the benefits: Coping with  stress  and fears, a better  focus  and generally a “mindful state of  mind “ – that sounds good and desirable, doesn’t it?

Do it, so here we go:

➕ Anything from 2 minutes to 10 minutes can realistically be incorporated into our everyday lives and routines. It's also great if you set a daily reminder.

➕ Find a quiet place where you can make yourself comfortable and where you will be as undisturbed as possible. Don't go into the living room, where other people might disturb you; it's better to withdraw. I, for example, often meditate on the train, but not without my headphones.

➕ Close your eyes and start breathing relaxed through your nose. Feel the oxygen slowly enter your lungs and breathe out through your mouth. Repeat this, breathe consciously and take all the time in the world.

➕ It's normal for your thoughts to turn to all the problems and appointments you still have ahead of you. As soon as that happens, breathe, smile and try to focus on your breathing again.

➕ Understand and love yourself. It sounds cheesy, but it's good. Feel where your thoughts come from, why XYZ frustrates you. But also remember that you will come out of everything stronger and more resilient. This self-knowledge leads us to support ourselves more and start to believe in ourselves.

➕ End with a smile.

Tip: You can also use an app to help you. I use Calm myself, but there are a number of good options in the store.
