WHAT ACTUALLY IS CALISTHENICS?

WAS IST EIGENTLICH CALISTHENICS?

Anyone who likes to push their mental and physical limits (or plans to do so) should take a closer look at calisthenics. And even though this sport may seem like a new trend, it is actually quite old and dates back to the 19th century*! The special thing about calisthenics is that you only train with your own body weight.

You don't need much more than a mat and, depending on the exercise, a pull-up bar or rings - and you're ready to go! In a typical workout, you work very intensively with your body and don't let equipment, for example, lead you in a certain direction - you are free. The combination of a calisthenics workout and yoga is extremely exciting. Both support each other because you get to know your body, your strengths and weaknesses, you become more flexible and you get better at targeting certain muscle groups.

 

We have brought you a little starter workout:

➕ 3 rounds each

50 x jumping jacks

50 x skippings

60 seconds in the Yogi Squad

60 seconds in downward dog

25 x push-ups

10 x pull-ups

5 x chin-ups

25 x sit-ups

60 seconds of plank

2 x 12 lunges
